A professor at the prestigious MIT, Indian-American Abhijit Banerjee uses economics to find solutions to global poverty. These studies earned him the Nobel Prize in 2019, an award also given to his wife, the French Esther Duflo.

Bisila Bokoko was born in Valencia, although her origins are Guinean. Her entrepreneurial nature is guided by a philanthropic side that has led her to lead literacy and women's empowerment projects in Africa.

At 36, Lupina Iturriaga is one of the most successful Spanish entrepreneurs in the financial sector. After working in banking in both London and New York, in 2012 she decided to found Fintonic, one of the leading apps in the sector.

He has been the State delegate in the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium since July 2018. He was deputy mayor in the government of Abel Caballero in Vigo. He has extensive knowledge of the Galician industry after his time in the management and general secretariat of Instalectra.

Born in Vigo, Antón Costas is one of Spain's most prestigious economists. Professor of Economic Policy at the University of Barcelona, he will be President of the Economic and Social Council of Spain from 2021.
Garcia-Peri
She is currently Director of Corporate Development and Strategy of the Azora Group, as well as an independent director of Evo Banco in Spain. Trained at ICADE, she worked for 16 years in senior positions in investment banking.
Siza
A lawyer, law professor and renowned author and lecturer, Pedro Siza Vieira was a member of the Portuguese Government between 2017 and 2022, becoming Minister of Economy and Digital Transition, as Deputy Prime Minister of the Portuguese Cabinet.

Puig is a clinical psychologist and a prestigious international lecturer. She is a business consultant and spent more than a decade working as a psychologist at Barcelona Football Club, as well as accompanying different sportsmen and women in other sports such as tennis, Formula 1, golf and motorcycling.

Santiago Lago is a professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Vigo, a researcher at FUNCAS and a full member of the Royal Academy of Economic and Financial Sciences of Spain. He is also a regular contributor to various media.

Martí Saballs is a journalist specialising in economics. After working as assistant editor of El Mundo and correspondent for Expansión in New York, he is currently director of Economic Information at Prensa Ibérica.

With a degree in Information Sciences, she is a journalist specialising in economics and business. After a professional career linked to Atlántico Diario, where she became editor-in-chief, since 2020 she has been director of Communication of the Zona Franca Consortium of Vigo.

The global economic paradigm is in a phase of intense transformation towards a new and uncertain reality. The vision of entrepreneurs is crucial to begin to design the path towards a more prosperous, sustainable and egalitarian future. It is the right time for ideas to be launched that, perhaps in other economic times, might not see the light of day.
How can we ensure that opportunities prevail over uncertainties and that good business ideas succeed? In this first round table of the congress we will be able to find some experiences of business success, which will serve as a guide in this conscious search for a better economic world.

The financial system is a fundamental part of the economic machinery of any society. In recent years we have witnessed a profound restructuring of a sector which, in many cases, has been forced to reinvent itself in order to survive.
Its reaction, for example, to scenarios of negative interest rates (previously) and accelerated interest rate hikes (currently) has tested the strength of a sector that continues to face a powerful challenge on the digitalisation front and, especially, in the growing competition from Fintechs.
The environment in which people live and develop their talent is key to fostering progress and creating wealth. Fixing population and attracting business initiatives, retaining home-grown talent and attracting new talent, and doing so in prosperous and innovation-prone spaces are some of the main objectives of the new development policies of our cities and regions. And in these, of course, the economy is key.
This third roundtable of the programme will discuss, among many other issues, the city as an economic engine, the aggregation of local structures as a basis for progress and how these local areas are destined to grow and stand out in the field of entrepreneurship and wealth creation.
