In 2023, Vigo established itself as an international capital of economic debate with the first edition of the Vigo Global Summit, bringing together Nobel laureates, business leaders, and political figures to reflect on sustainability, digitalization, and major global challenges.
In 2025, the summit returns with greater ambition and international reach. Over two days, it will address the key issues that will shape our immediate future: “Geopolitics and Geoeconomics: The New Global Chessboard” and “Leadership in the Digital Era: Economy, Work, and Society in Transformation.”

The growing rivalry among major powers has brought the economy back to the center of world politics. In a context of fragmentation and mistrust, financial flows, supply chains, and critical technologies are increasingly used as instruments of power and national security.
China and other emerging economies are promoting an alternative order that challenges the legitimacy of the liberal system established after 1945, while Europe and the United States are redefining their industrial, energy, and digital policies to preserve strategic autonomy.
